My name is Jack. I do my best to fit in. I’m happy with fitting in.



I spent my youth as a boy genius, the best and greatest mind that the world had ever seen. As an adult, I’d like coffee, just like the next guy. I’m not better than anybody else and I prefer it that way. I’ll take the night shift every day of the week.



But sometimes, a guy’s past just won’t leave him alone. You know the type of girl trouble I’m talking about, the sort that yanks the barbed wire around your own soul, put there by everyone and everything. I never asked for it, but none of us ever do.



So there I am, having a staring contest with the Jazz Age, doing my best to throw the game, and the game won’t get thrown. What are you going to do? Sometimes a man just has to face his own past if he wants to sleep at night.
