What and Who is the Constitutional Court Guarding‪?‬

The Lustration, the external evaluation, the religious instruction, the church on the main square, the patriotic fiscal bill are just some parts of the Government's project that the Constitutional Court has either repealed or is on its way to do so. With this consistency in its decision making, the Constitutional Court is already recognized as an institution that is regularly stopping the reform projects of the Government. Who are actually these nine persons with a nine-year mandate? They are nine persons with a nine-year mandate. Nobody can replace them. They have the foundation for independent action because their status is guaranteed. It is another question whether they are using this foundation or not. Laws fall down in front of this institution, on the basis of their decisions political crises are created and the public opinion is shaken. For the VMRO-DPMMNE, the Constitutional Court is affiliated to a party and it is the creation of SDSM leader Branko Crvenkovski. The Constitutional judges are decisive in claiming that there is no political influence, while those who have once occupied the position of a judge affirm that in most cases the court has been making political decisions. What is true in all this remains for the public to evaluate based on the biographies of the Constitutional judges and the decisions that they have made.
