About the author
Caroline Corcoran’s first novel, Through The Wall, came out in October 2019. It was a top 20 bestseller and translated into numerous foreign languages.
Her second book, The Baby Group, published in September 2020, and her third book Five Days Missing published in 2022.
As well as writing books, Caroline is a freelance lifestyle and popular culture journalist who has written and edited for most of the top magazines, newspapers and websites in the UK.

A solid read
Her dream job just became her worst nightmare…
Corcoran has created a dark tale that had all the ingredients to make this a great compelling read, but unfortunately just missed the mark. The prologue set the tone and immediately had my attention, but it quickly became overly descriptive and drawn out. In saying that though, the story did have me invested enough to keep going, wanting to see how it would unfold.
The things I did enjoy were Corcoran drawing on her own experience in journalism which gave it authenticity and I found the insight into day and night editors enlightening and very interesting. The way she sensitively dealt with the harder topics were well done and it’s very unexpected outcome were points in it’s favour.
Overall this was not a bad read and if you enjoy slow burn thrillers and mysteries, you should check it out.
