Publisher Description
Return to the eon-spanning and universe-crossing conflict between humanity and the unknowable alien Xeelee in this selection of uncollected and unpublished stories, newly edited and placed in chronological reading order.
From tales charting the earliest days of man's adventure to the stars to stories of Old Earth, four billion years in the future, the range and startling imagination of Baxter is always on display. As humanity rises and falls, ebbs and flows, one thing is always needed - the ability to endure.
Contains eleven short stories and novellas.

Mr.
As a young man I thought that Stephen Baxter was a top sci fi author. I am now an old and well read man with an opinion that differs from that of a young man.
Briefly Stephen writes about humanity at length going on for billions of years and yet applies all of the human foibles and frailties one would hope the humanity would overcome sooner than that, his techno-savvy apart the psychology is very poor.
I would suggest that the readers of science fiction are used to drastic changes and can easily adapt to just about anything.
