A tender addition to the #1 bestselling Court of Thorns and Roses series by global phenomenon Sarah J. Maas, bridging the events of A Court of Wings and Ruin and A Court of Silver Flames
Feyre, Rhysand, and their friends are still busy rebuilding the Night Court and the vastly altered world beyond, recovering from the war that changed everything. But Winter Solstice is finally approaching, and with it, the joy of a hard-earned reprieve.
Yet even the festive atmosphere can’t keep the shadows of the past from looming. As Feyre navigates her first Winter Solstice as High Lady, her concern for those dearest to her deepens. They have more wounds than she anticipated—scars that will have a far-reaching impact on the future of their court.
Bridging the events of A Court of Wings and Ruin with the later books in the series, A Court of Frost and Starlight explores the far-reaching effects of a devastating war and the fierce love between friends.

Perfect narration
Thank you so much!
Disappointing. No character development.
Disappointed is an understatement. I went into A Court of Frost and Starlight hoping for character growth, emotional resolution, or something meaningful after the intense events of the main series, but what I got felt shallow and even frustrating.
There’s no real character development. Nesta, who you’d think would reflect on her trauma after nearly dying and losing her sisters, stays as bitter and distant as ever. There’s no sign of growth, just a flat emotional wall that makes it hard to empathize with her, even knowing what she’s been through.
And Feyre, where do I even begin? Instead of feeling like a matured version of the woman who endured so much, she comes off as petty and bratty. Yes, Tamlin overprotected her but the level of hostility she directs at him borders on vindictive, as if he was an abuser, not just someone who made selfish mistakes. And Rhys? His mocking, zero-sympathy attitude toward a broken man feels cruel. It made me actively dislike the main characters, which is the opposite of what a bridge novella like this should do.
And then there’s Lucien. What exactly did he do to deserve the coldness and rejection from Elain and the total lack of sympathy from Feyre? He stood by Feyre during her time in the Spring Court, risked himself to be with Elian when he escaped with Feyre from the Spring Court, and was loyal through every dangerous twist of the journey. He’s treated like an unwanted outsider, not just by Elain (who won’t even acknowledge the bond or speak to him with basic kindness), but also by the very people he supported. It’s frustrating and disheartening, especially when he’s one of the few characters who actually tried to do the right thing.
In short, this novella felt like fan service mixed with unresolved bitterness. It didn’t add anything to the characters I once loved, in fact, it made me like them less.
I don’t even want to buy the next book as this one feels a waste of money.
