Publisher Description
INTRODUCTION Populations should not be considered in isolation (Tilman and Kareiva, 1997; Hanski and Gaggiotti, 2004). Many populations exist in a spatial context where both reproduction within populations and dispersal among populations determine abundance and dynamics. Hence, understanding the abundance of local populations requires consideration of factors affecting growth and dynamics within a population, as well as factors affecting dispersal among populations.
