The Lightning War: Rising Storm

Physics doesn't negotiate. Neither does she.

Twelve years ago, a Polish colony found an alien warship in a debris field. Now every superpower in human space wants what they reverse-engineered.

On the frontier, Polonia Prime is a small, underfunded nation with one unforgivable advantage: hybrid alien drive and weapons technology that can rewrite every fleet doctrine in the Hyades Cluster.

Lieutenant Commander Maria Roszak earned her command through tactical competence, not bloodline or politics. Her destroyer Błyskawica is a relic on the outside, retrofitted inside with forbidden Bubble-drive systems, railgun batteries, and point-defense grids that skate the edge of physics. When a Zenith Caliphate carrier strike group crosses the border to seize Polonia's secrets, Maria finds herself outnumbered, outgunned—and no longer sure her own side is playing straight.

Every time the enemy finds her faster than they should, suspicion grows. If she's right about a leak in her own chain of command, exposing it could destroy her career and her ship long before the Caliphate does. To keep her crew alive and her nation independent, Maria must turn debris fields into weapons, doctrine into a disadvantage, and an obsolete destroyer into the sharpest blade in Polonia's arsenal.

In a battlespace where Newtonian recoil, delta-v budgets, and railgun kinetics decide who lives, one captain's brain is the only shield her people have left.
