Adventure and Action!
This is book 12 in the Hot Scots Series. I love this series! Errol and Ashley's story is full of adventure, action, and twists and turns. I liked their push and pull relationship. The storyline is very entertaining and captivating. Shane East and Marian Hussey did an outstanding job with the narration. I enjoyed it. I highly recommend this series.
Treasure Hunt with a Scot? Yes, please!
Book 12 in the Hot Scots series but it does stand alone. There are references to the previous book in the series most as Errol was part of Magnus and Piper's adventure, however what you need to know is given to you. But if you're going to read one book before this one, make it Relentless in a Kilt.
Errol is pursued by Ashley as she is convinced that he is the perfect person to help her locate a secret treasure thought by many to be a massive hoax. She is desperate to solve the puzzle and prove the treasure to be truth and not fantasy. She just knows in her gut that Errol's talents as a treasure hunter and problem solver are exactly what she needs to unlock this mystery.
This story has a bit of a slower start than the other Hot Scots books I've read. Don't get me wrong, there's still quite a bit of passionate, tense and explosive moments in the opening chapters, but for me, the really good parts start once the hunt for the treasure starts in Arizona. It's like a very complex roller coaster: there is a slow ramping up with little bursts of speed along the way to the top, but once you're up there you can only go down and it's going to be one hell of a ride down.
The audio for this one was performed by Shane East and Marian Hussey. Shane provides multiple hits of Scottish brogue along with multiple versions of American. As always, he's smooth and emotive and I just love listing to him dish out Gaelic (both terms of endearment and insults alike). Marian is very enjoyable as Ashley. She can bring in the accents for Errol and his family with ease and make me lose myself in the story when things get heated (from both danger or passion in equal measure).
