Growly, Grumpy Scottish Bounty Hunter (YUM!)
This is book 11 in the series but they stand alone beautifully. You know there must be stories for all the family members, but you don't feel like you're missing anything by not knowing the details.
Magnus is a gruff and grumpy bounty hunter and he's perceived as the black sheep of the MacTaggert clan. He's been hunting this one bounty for almost 2 years yet she keeps eluding him. She's the only bounty to ever get away from him once he's gotten his hands on them.
Piper was accused of killer her boss to get his job, but she didn't do it. However in addition to being blamed for this crime she didn't commit, someone wants her dead too. So she ran and Magnus followed. She's been trying to stay alive and at least one step ahead of the scary guy in black for so long.
When he finally catches her again, she pleads with him to believe she's innocent and eventually they work together to find the truth. Along the way, they will give in to the tempting heat that simmers between them, but could it become more?
The audiobook for this adventure was performed by Shane East and Emma Wilder. Shane brings all the growly sexiness that comes with a Scottish bounty hunter, including all the Gaelic cursing and terms of endearment that melt my heart (truly I could listen to him call me "ghràidh" all day). Emma as American archivist Piper is just pure joy in my ears. She's on point with all the emotions and really brings it home with her smart as a whip questions and deductions.
Entertaining!
This is book 11 in the Hot Scots series. I love this series. Magnus and Piper's story is entertaining, sexy, and suspenseful, filled with twists and turns. Piper is such a wonderful character, strong, determined, and smart. Magnus is very handsome and protective. They share a sizzling hot chemistry. I liked their banter and the humor in the story. The storyline is captivating. Impossible to put it down. I loved to see again the characters from the first books in the series. Shane East and Emma Wilder did a fantastic job with the narration. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listening to Incendiary in a Kilt, the next book in the series.
