Publisher Description
A witch on the run from her cruel family. Four sinfully hot gargoyles offering her a shot at revenge... for a price.
For a witch without magic, marrying into a prominent coven was supposed be my greatest honor—and the only way to clear my father’s massive debt. But when my groom turns out to be a demon in disguise, I stab him at the altar and flee…
Straight into the arms of New York’s most notorious mobsters.
Jude, the charming but brutal psychopath. Augustine, the devilishly handsome conman. Rook, the cunning spy and hacker. And Draegan, the fearsome boss who rules his underworld empire with an iron fist.
People call them the men of shadow and stone—untouchable and unbreakable—but I know better.
They’re not men at all.
They’re gargoyles.
Ancient. Ruthless. Possessive. Way more seductive than I care to admit.
Now that I’m under their protection, they’ve vowed to take down my enemies.
But they’re taking something else in return.
Me.
Wicked Conjuring is the first book in the Claimed by Gargoyles series, a scorching hot reverse harem paranormal mafia romance featuring a feisty witch coming into her power and four fiercely possessive gargoyle gangsters with horns, tails, oh-so-sensitive wings, and special “equipment” guaranteed to leave their woman—and their readers—begging for more.

I need more gargoyles in my life
Be warned, it ends on a cliff and if I could have, I would have gone straight into the next book. But it's not out yet, so I will just dangle over here waiting for the story to keep going.
Westlyn is a witch with no powers, she's a pawn being moved around by her family to ensure their future and continued good favour in the supernatural community. However, things don't go as planned and instead of being married to the son of the city's most powerful mage, she's under the protection of 4 hot as hell gargoyles.
She's drawn to them and they to her. Each has their own place in the group and appeal to different aspects of her personality.
In audio we get performances by 4 stellar narrators.
- Westlyn is brought to life by Vanessa Edwin. From sad and resigned to her arranged position, to wild and crazy running for her life, to passionate and determined making the most of her future, this woman does it all.
- Aaron Shedlock voices Rook, the bookworm tech genius/spymaster. He's quiet and observant and super smart.
- Aiden Snow brings us the super flirty Augustine, he knows how to pour on the charm and get what he wants from anyone he's set his eyes on.
- Shane East pulls double duty bringing us both Jude, the rough around the edges psycho brute who's all about intimidation and games, as well as Dreagan, the leader of the pack who holds the weight of his brothers on his shoulders (not just these 3, but all the gargoyles under his protection).
All 4 performers are fantastic at keeping all 4 of these distinct males characters separate and easily identifiable in each unique POV delivery. Even when they're freaking out and yelling at each other, I can keep track of who is who and what is being said. It was so fun to listen to.
We get a great taste of the story, we get a grasp on everyone's problems and we get a hint of how complex and interwoven everything actually is. It's more that we think at the beginning and at the end of this part of the story I was at the edge of my seat (in more ways than one) just enthralled. At the end I actually called out loud "no... not now... I need to know". So I'm eagerly anticipating the next installment.
This was my first ever Sarah Piper book and I'm hooked! I will definitely be diving into the back list while I wait for book 2.
I requested and received an advanced copy of the audiobook and this is my honest review.
