At least, he's not a beast all the time.
As she adapts to her new home, her feelings for the faerie, Tamlin, transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But something is not right in the faerie lands. An ancient, wicked shadow is growing, and Feyre must find a way to stop it, or doom Tamlin-and his world-forever.

APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
The best romantic fantasy series aren’t just about heroes and villains—they’re about actions and consequences. The first book in Sarah J. Maas’ sexy Court of Thorns and Roses fantasy series begins with 19-year-old Feyre Archeron hunting in the woods one frigid winter day when she kills what she thinks is a wolf, but turns out to be a faerie. Exiled to the faerie world as punishment, Feyre is surprised to discover that her new home is full of dark beauty—especially if you count Tamlin, the extremely hot High Lord. Maas blends themes from classic tales like “Beauty and the Beast” into a story of steamy romance and high-stakes drama. We fell in love with Maas’ gorgeous and mysterious world and her sensual heroine who discovers she may have a major role to play in stopping the darkness that looms over both her own kingdom and the gorgeous Tamlin. As soon as we wolfed this fantastical adventure down, we were ready for the sequel.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
When 19-year-old Feyre kills a wolf in the borderland forest between the human world and the faerie kingdom of Prythian, she unknowingly breaks a wary truce and must repay the murder with her life. Tamlin, the shapeshifting Fae who comes to collect, offers Feyre a way out: spend the rest of her days on his lands in Prythian. She reluctantly agrees, leaving her starving family behind for the deceptive luxury of the faerie world. As Feyre begins to accept and even enjoy her new surroundings, not to mention the attentions of her host, she learns that the faerie world is crumbling under a blight that robs people like Tamlin of their magic and lets monsters roam free. Maas (the Throne of Glass series) draws themes and plot points from several fairy tales, fueling a well-developed world and complex relationships. The gruesome politics and magical might of the Fae may seem to leave Feyre hopelessly outmatched, but her grit and boundless loyalty demand that her foes and readers sit up and pay attention. Ages 14 up.

Deserves the hype
It seems ACOTAR is one long, beautifully crafted introduction to the universe. I am almost finished with the second book, A Court of Mist and Fury, and I now understand why everyone sings its praises even more than the original. Can’t wait to continue with the rest of the series.
Disappointment
As a best seller, I felt this book lacked character development. The love story was sporadic and disconnected and felt forced and …convenient. The heroine’s character traits were not well established in the beginning making them unbelievable during the climax of the story. So many holes in the storyline, poor plot development and obvious inconsistencies had me laughing at the silliness of some of the events and timelines.
Would not recommend.
#love triangle???!?
Omg I loved it sm!!! The ending tho with Rhys 🤭 THEORY: Remember when Tamlin said that there were like forever bonds to like “heart mates” and that they didn’t have one? Or something like that. I THINK RHYS MIGHT BE THE ONE FOR OUR GIRLLL!! No hate just a theory.. ngl if it’s not I’ll take him tho!! Looking forward for book 2!!!
