After witnessing cold-blooded murder, Carly Moore falls under the watchful eye of the locals and must keep her own secrets at bay. Carly has already been introduced within Swank’s Rose Gardner crime series, but this spinoff provides greater character development—and a deeply compelling backstory. This book is perfect to settle down with for an afternoon and devour in one session. A must-read for any fans of thrillers with a Southern Gothic twist.

Didn’t think I was going to like this series but I actually do. A very quick read and I now can’t wait for the second instalment.

Denise Grover Swank has done it again!! What an awesome read. It's not often a spin-off series can stand on it's own so well. The character development along with all the twists and turns will keep you guessing and questioning to the very end and beyond. I can't wait for the next book

I thought this book would not get me, but it did! I couldn’t put my book down and I HAD to finish it less than a week (late Saturday night to lunch hour Monday). Mind you I have a family I need to take care of as well. I loved how I was taken away to a new place 😍 once again, thank you Denise! I can’t wait to go back to Drum.
