Written by Seo Jeong-oh
Seo Jeong-oh was born in 1955 in Andong, Gyeongsangbuk-do. He studied at Andong Education College and Daegu Education College. After graduation, he worked as an elementary school teacher. He stopped teaching not long ago and is writing stories now. Seo is especially dedicated to rewriting old Korean stories to make them known to children today. The books that he has written and published are A Storeroom in the Underworld, A Donkey Wrapped in Paper, A Wrapping Cloth from the Tiger, 100 Old Korean Stories that We Should Know, Korean Myths that We Should Know, Telling Old Stories, and etc.
Illustrated by Hong Woo-jeong
Hong Woo-jeong was born in Seoul in 1972. She majored in Western Painting at Sangmyung Womans University and had worked as an animator. After finishing a course of Kkoktu Illustrate Institute, she had been drawing a picture for picture books. The books she illustrated in are A Storeroom in the Underworld, Let’s Say a Big Hello Neatly, Ugly Duckling, and etc.
Translated by Charlie Chung
Chung is a translator of children’s literature. She studied translation at Ewha Womans University GSTI and worked for a publishing agency introducing Korean children’s books around the world. She has translated many Korean children’s books into English and been in a doctoral program in translation studies.
