Sienna Hendricks is mourning the death of her beloved grandfather, but she finds comfort in knowing part of his legacy will be the establishment of a public park in the Bronx on a piece of family-owned property. When Manhattan lawyer Quinn Cavanaugh interrupts the reading of the will to announce that his client is contesting ownership of the property, Sienna resolves to prove her grandfather's right to the land. Quinn is determined to protect his client's best interests, but he finds his attention shifting from the case to his new opposing counsel. When the judge orders Quinn and Sienna to work together on tracing the land's rightful owner, Sienna and Quinn find their mutual interest developing into an all-consuming passion, but a sudden twist in the case forces both of them to question where their devotion really lies. Though inconsistent plotting and heavy-handed dialogue prove distracting, there is still plenty of genuine chemistry and devotion between the protagonists. This is a satisfying series installment.

3.75 stars--ALL IT TAKES is the second instalment in Kristen Proby’s contemporary, adult ROMANCING MANHATTAN erotic, romance series focusing on threes brothers and attorneys: Finn, Carter and Quinn Cavanaugh. This is attorney Quinn Cavanagh, and attorney Sienna Hendricks’ story line. ALL IT TAKES can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Quinn and Sienna) ALL IT TAKES follows the building relationship between opposing attorneys Quinn Cavanagh, and Sienna Hendricks. Sienna Hendricks’ grandfather recently died bequeathing an expensive piece of property, designated as park land, to the Bronx but there is an immediate objection when attorney Quinn Cavanaugh claims to have documentation that the land in question does not belong to the Hendricks’ family. A court order forces our couple to work toward a common goal, a goal to research and uncover the truth. What ensues is the building relationship and romance between Quinn and Sienna, and the potential fall-out when secrets and lies converge to destroy our heroine’s heart.
Sienna Hendricks knows working with Quinn Cavanaugh on her grandfather’s case may be all kinds of wrong but when a judge forces our couple to work together, the sparks begin to fly, and the heart falls in love. Quinn Cavanaugh isn’t opposed to working with our story line heroine but convincing Sienna they should work together behind the scenes is a potential conflict of interest when Quinn is presented with information that could destroy the woman with whom he is falling in love.
The relationship between Quinn and Sienna is one of immediate attraction but Sienna struggles working with a man who is determined to take away her grandfather’s legacy. Quinn is determined to make Sienna his own but secrets revealed will pull Sienna out of his life. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Quinn’s brothers: Finn and London (All the Way #1), Carter Cavanagh and his daughter Gabby, and their mother Margaret; as well as the introduction of Sienna’s sister Lou; their parents, uncle Patrick; and real estate developer Bruce House.
ALL IT TAKES is a story of family, secrets, betrayal and lies. The premise is engaging and captivating; the romance is seductive; the characters are sassy and sexy. ALL IT TAKES is a wonderful addition to Kristen Proby’s ROMANCING MANHATTEN series.
