Publisher Description
Taking care of the chicken farm and her sick mother takes up all of Amanda’s time. She’s never been able to meet young men and court like a proper young lady. Now she’s firmly a spinster at 32, and knows there are no prospects in the future for her.
Then she meets Rocky Pascal. He’s a hardworking cow hand with a surprising past. He’s also seven years younger than Amanda, which, to Amanda’s mind, puts him off limits. Rocky has no such compunctions, however, and pursues her actively. When Rocky volunteers to do some heavy work around the chicken farm, Amanda is both thrilled and wary. He chastises her for letting the farm get so dilapidated and points out that it’s time she had a daddy to take care of her.
Amanda hasn’t had a daddy since she was four. Is this the answer to her prayers, or the stuff of nightmares?

Amanda didn’t exactly know how to let someone help her
It took me a moment to figure out how this book tied into the series. It had been just long enough that I didn’t immediately remember Rocky is the twin brother to Rose, the heroine of I Can't Be Your Daddy. This story is much faster paced than the previous one. In fact, it kind of jumps right into the deep end from fairly near the start. I liked the dynamic between Rocky and Amanda. She’d been doing everything by herself for so long that she didn’t exactly know how to let someone help her. From my own personal experiences, I found that part of their story to be very realistic. The power exchange aspects are very tame and mostly found in the language they use. Though, there are some punishments when Amanda isn’t showing proper respect for her own safety. I wasn’t a complete fan of all the ‘other woman’ drama in this book. I understand that it’s a powerful motivating force in the plot, and because it’s what eventually brings it all together in the end, I can mostly forgive it. I curious to see where this series goes next.
