His love is his legacy, we will always hold it dear,
It will live in every rainbow,
Every sound, every thought, every tear,
It was on that day, New Years Eve,
When the snow began to fall,
When David lost his future for giving everything and all.
He smiled through adversity,
He laughed as the sun went down,
He embraced his last few moments,
His dignity was his crown.
So, now, your days on earth are over
But, through eternity, we will never part,
For every petal of every poppy is a piece of your heart.
