Finding Her Voice

Her sisters and brother stood around her mother’s bed as she lay dying. As her mother took her last breath, Madelyn shed one tear. As it rolled down her cheek, she looked around at the others to see if they noticed. She was glad she was dead. She wouldn’t have her mother’s voice in her head anymore.
