A four generational story of one family; While both dark with a cruel and secret side. A story of strong women, who not only deal with such a harsh existence; but grow from it. There certainly is a lot of harsh reality in this book, but there are also moments of humorous touches, with odd characters, with strange habits. These are unique people who learned survival at its basic bottom. They went forward to grow, and learned that life is valuable in every way.
