Publisher Description
When you’ve lived your life as a criminal…
When you’ve done unspeakable things …
When your soul has become dark and stained…
The path to redemption begins where you least expect it.
Kyle Sommerville is in hiding and doesn’t want to be found by anyone. Certainly not by his quirky, free-spirited neighbor who’s managed to push her way past the walls he’s built around him. But Jane Cresson’s indomitable will and insatiable curiosity about her reclusive neighbor makes it impossible for Kyle to stay immersed in his dark world.
Little by little, she claws through his shell.
Day by day, she gets him to smile a little more.
Night by night, they both find pleasure they never knew existed.
When Kyle’s terrible past is exposed, Jane begins to think she’s in over her head. Can her love for this broken man finally clear his path to redemption, or will Kyle’s darkness finally extinguish every bit of hope she’s put into him?

This book made me SO happy!
I had no idea how much I needed this book until I started reading it! It made me SO happy!
My first clue, should have been the name "Kyle" in the title. But it didn't take me long to clue in! By 2% my mind was blown and I was rushing to download a previous title by this author to confirm my suspicions. I'm not going to say too much about it, but Kyle appears in two previous titles from Sawyer Bennett. Because she's a clever, sneaky genius she shocked the hell out of me with his appearance. If you haven't read Wicked Bond (Book #5 in the Wicked Horse series) I HIGHLY advise you read that first. This book is a standalone, but you're going to have a much greater appreciation for this story if you read it first. He also appears in another title that I personally haven't read, but I'll be rectifying that soon enough.
So many things I loved about this book. Kyle was one broody, moody, mysterious guy. Strangely, he made it look sexy and interesting. Pair that with Jane who was adorably persistent and just wouldn't take no for an answer from this guy. She was also insanely funny. I'm praying Sawyer Bennett is going to give Jane's friend Miranda a book as well, because she was a big part of the humor in this story. I was hopelessly entertained. And holy mother of all the things, the chemistry between Kyle and Jane was INSANE. Like, blow up my Kindle levels hot. Add in some laughs, danger, intrigue and good feels and you have all the makings of another 5 Star book. This author never ceases to blow my mind!
