It has it all. The newest Governors (OTB) task force is ramping up and adding cases faster than the team can solve them. It all started with the abduction of Travis’s daughter in Book 1... and now we are entrenched into a story that has JJ developing a hot sexy slow burn with Baz. We have Trey, Brantley’s brother on board and they are all meshing together into a phenomenal series. Brantley and Reese continue to discover the highs and lows of having a M/M relationship while chaos swirls around them - its real life drama and is done seamlessly with amazing thought. Travis is still haunted by the kidnapping of his daughter and is woven throughout this instalment so we get glimpses of whats to come. The detective’s pull you right into the story and you can feel yourself “inside the house” as they race the clock to find a killer.
What takes this book from average to “out of the park” is the skill with which the characters are all brought to life in your mind and the detail spent on each of their lives so you will be hard pressed to put the book down! The “I never saw that coming” is just the hook readers love! Delivered in spades. Heart pounding, laugh out loud, tugging at your heart strings one minute ~holding your breath the next. Scorching hot sex is always on tap. Nicole has outdone herself with this new series and am blown away by the way she gives us exactly what we need. The series cannot come fast enough! Outstanding!!
