Publisher Description
An eternal love tested by time… or destined to vanish forever?
Scotland, Late 1200s
Cree and Dawn have no idea of the power of Old Mary's words. They believed their hearts were safe. But on All Hallows' Eve, fate has other plans. As shadows deepen and whispers fill the night, an ominous twist is set in motion, one that will test the very core of their bond—or tear them apart for all eternity.
Scotland, 2018
Eight centuries later, on another All Hallows' Eve, the past awakens. The Carrick Foundation, built by Lord Cree's descendants, is hosting its annual charity gala, a night when spirits roam and history bleeds into the present. Among the serving staff is Dawn, a struggling artist with an inexplicable draw to the foundation's grand estate. And there, amid laughter and glances exchanged, she encounters Cree—a stranger who feels oddly familiar, stirring emotions she can't explain. Neither of them knows the truth: they were once each other's heartbeat, their souls intertwined in an unbreakable bond that time has long since buried.
But some souls are too potent to be forgotten.
Enter Old Mary, the ancient seer who has crossed the veil of time. She warns them of what they've forgotten—and what's at stake. Before the first light of November 1st, Cree and Dawn must uncover the love they shared or face an eternity of being lost to each other.
Yet, destiny doesn't let go so easily. As they're pulled through memories, both familiar and haunting, they're met with obstacles meant to keep them apart. Fate's challenge is clear… they must rekindle what they had or forever bear the sorrow of a love undone by time.
When midnight strikes on October 31st, will Cree and Dawn stand together, or will the cruel hand of fate wrench them apart forever?
Author's note: This novella can be read as a standalone book. But if you would like to know how Cree & Dawn's story got started, read books 1 & 2, Highlander Unchained & Forbidden Highlander (available together in one book).

When the Past Collides with the Future!
This was an awesome quick read, but let me stress that by no means was the enjoyment less of an experience. Donna Fletcher has a winner in this amazing story. The fluidity between the past and present is done extremely well, I loved seeing Dawn in a present day setting and the connection between Cree and Dawn is just as powerful in the present.
The Carrick Foundation is hosting a fundraiser for charity and Dawn is a server in the castle she called home in the past, with vague recollections she feels a connection. Especially when she makes eye contact with Lord Cree. But Cree is not the only person she feels she’s met before. The old woman they call Old Mary is one she feels she knows, especially when she mentions that if she doesn’t tell Cree of her love he’ll forever be lost to her!
Cree is drawn to the young woman they call Dawn, he feels a powerful connection to her, one that fires his blood with an all consuming passion, and a need to protect her. When she’s accused of a theft he wants her near but how can he have this connection with a woman he’s just met? Especially when the fortune teller Old Mary warned him if he doesn’t declare his love they will be lost to each other forever! But it’s All Hallow’s Eve and anything is possible when the time between present and past is open.... so they say.
The urgency is real they both feel it in their heart but Dawn is nowhere to be found and the time is closing in on them before the clock strikes midnight. Can Cree and Dawn declare their love or are the doomed for ever! There’s a theft and evil persons from the past/ present have created complications.
Plenty of mystery and intrigue for Cree and Dawn, the suspense is palpable, will they make it on time? I guess you’ll need to read the story to find out, I promise you won’t be disappointed! Once again this was superbly done, I can’t wait to read the next Cree and Dawn story!
I received a complimentary copy from the author. This is my honest unbiased opinion.
