My brothers and sisters,

Although I made a personal decision that Christianity was not for me, I was raised Christian from birth. Thus, I am familiar with a lot of the religious beliefs of and stereotypes about Christians that are not necessarily true in all cases.

I enjoyed that this book puts married sex into perspective. However, this book does not cover premarital sex (which is not included under the 'adultery' umbrella in the 10 Commandments) or open relationships in which BOTH partners agree that it is okay to have sex with other people, provided that they are emotionally faithful to and honest with each other (which is especially common in long distance relationships).

Also, it would be good to mention the importance of safe sex, given that 'your body is the temple of the holy spirit' and you should take care of it (emotionally, spiritually, physically, and sexually). I personally don't believe that the Christian God (nor gods in any other religion) would consider it a sin to love another human being and shown that affection through pleasing each other sexually. Affectionate intimacy towards another person should not make you love God any less.

This is true even if you area in love with your sexual partner, because people can carry STI's unknowingly (without having any symptoms). You can also contract some STI's without having sex. Generally, if you and your lover have built enough trust to be having sex, you should also have enough trust to get tested and share your results (even if your intention is to reproduce)

I am in no way trying to force my beliefs on anyone, just sharing an honest (what I consider to be also religiously universal) opinion in hopes that it will provide some insight.
