Another absolutely addicting novel by M.M. Chouinard
I have been addicted to M.M.Chouinard and her novels about feisty detective Jo Fournier since I first picked up ‘The Dancing Girls’ and proceeded to binge read it through the night in one single sitting. As with her past few books, I pre-ordered ‘Lost Little Dolls’ and then impatiently counted down the days and hours until the release and then greedily binge read through the night! As always ‘Little Lost Dolls’ is equal parts thrilling, compelling, heartbreaking, suspenseful and ultimately satisfying. There is also the welcome injection of familiar warmth and humour the reader gets to experience through Jo’s relationships with her detective partner Bob and the rest of her police team/family. Again more personality is added in the heartwarming albeit complex personal relationships she has with her family and love interest. If you are a fan of thrillers like ‘Gone Girl’, ‘The Woman in the Window’, ‘Sharp Objects’ or ‘The Woman in Cabin 10’ or anything by the O.G. detective novelist Agatha Christie, then you will love every single book by M.M Chouinard. It is, as I have come to expect from M.M. Chouinard, cleverly written and full of detail, both forensically and psychologically. Twist after twist quickly has you second guessing whatever hypothesis you have come up with and insatiable curiosity will keep you turning page after page long past your bed time. The only disappointment you will find is the wait before the next instalment in the Jo Fournier series. 10/10 recommend :)
