Such a sweet smalltown romance! Jade & Levi’s story will warm your whole heart. She’s an independent single mom, raising her son in Sweetbriar Ridge. Levi is an ad exec that loses his job in the city, and comes home to Sweetbriar to figure out his next steps.
The two connect through work initially, then they go from friends to flings, to so much more. This story was full of family drama on both sides. The side characters, especially Levi’s sisters, are so well developed, and so much fun to follow along the way.
If you’re wanting a sweet and romantic small town story to lighten up your TBR, this is it. Thank you to Valentine PR, Net Galley, and Samantha Chase, for the chance to read/listen to this early copy.
Samantha Chase bringing us another incredible series - an absolute must-read!
Oh, how I love and adore Samantha Chase and everything I’ve read from her! The Donovans series in Laurel Bay is incredible, and now this new spin-off series for their cousins, The Donovans of Sweetbriar Ridge - I’m in heaven! I wasn’t ready to leave the characters when the previous one ended, so coming back and getting a visit with the previous family, even if it was brief, was just amazing!
I loved this story just as much as the previous series - Samantha Chase is such a spectacular author and anyone who hasn’t had the opportunity yet to read her many books is really missing out!! It’s incredible, with fantastic characters, great story development, depth, just the right drama, previous character overlap and steam vs romance. I can’t get enough of her books!
Levi Donovan returns to Sweetbriar Ridge after a career glitch in the big city, figuring it’ll be short-term. He runs into Jade, someone he knew in high school. She’s now a single mom… just opening a book store. Her son is very special, and he and Levi strike up a friendship. He starts helping out the local businesses with advertising while he’s trying to find another big-city position, while getting closer to Jade - all the while trying to remember why he didn’t want to remain in the small town, and also reconnecting with his father in Briar Ridge and figuring out why he left.
I absolutely recommend everyone grabs this book - it’s the start of a new series so a great place to discover a fantastic author (though there are crossover characters so better to know the cousins first). I highly recommend getting this one in audio - narrated by Carly Robins, one of the very best! Her voice was perfect for this story and she always does a perfect job.

This is advertising executive Levi Donovan, and café /book store owner, and single mother Jade Mackenzie’s story line.
Told from dual omniscient third person perspectives (Levi and Jade) LOVING YOU follows the building romance and relationship between advertising executive Levi Donovan, and café /book store owner, and single mother Jade Mackenzie. Years earlier, Levi Donovan left Sweetbriar Ridge looking for something bigger and better but the sudden loss of his job brought Levi back with his proverbial tail tucked between his legs, struggling to accept where everything went wrong. Meeting café/book store owner Jade Mackenzie gave Levi pause but Levi had no plans to remain in Sweetbriar Ridge, and at present no offers for a future job. As Levi and Jade’s relationship slowly turns into something more, Levi will discover Jade is struggling with sins of the past, sins that are determined to tear her down. As a single mother to an eight year old son, Jade battles between head and heart when the past reveals a series of secrets and lies but Levi’s own life is continuing to spiral out of control, and the dysfunctional family values begin to take their toll. The relationship between Levi and Jade is one of immediate attraction: an accidental meeting in which Levi sees an opportunity for friendship, where Jade is hoping for something more. There are no $ex scenes, everything fades to black or is implied.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters including all of Levi’s sisters: Billie, Chloe, and Ashlyn: their mother; Jade’s parents, her son Silas; Silas’ grandparent Victoria and Thomas Nelson, as well as several locals.
LOVING YOU is a story of betrayal and vengeance, secrets and lies, forgiveness and acceptance, understanding and love. The premise is sweet, engaging and delightful; the romance is flirty; the characters are sassy and lively.
