I think this is my new favourite Chase book!
I adore Samantha Chase! She’s at the very top of my list of favourite and auto-buy authors. The Donovans and this cousins spin-off series are my very favorite and I am going to be lost when it ends (there’s only one cousin left)… yes, I still have a bit of her back catalogue but I’m tied to this series.
Wanting You brings us twin sister Chloe’s story (the last one was other twin Ashlyn). She’s the shy and reserved sister of the family - the kindergarten teacher. She’s won “Teacher of the Year” the last 2 years but the town and school are expanding and now there’s a second kindergarten teacher so she’s worried about sharing the load with the new woman coming in…
Tanner is a former competitive skier with a teaching degree. He’s retired from skiing now and late applying for teaching jobs because of when he made the decision. He wants to teach fifth grade but the only position available anywhere is Sweetbriar Ridge Elementary in kindergarten, because of a last-minute change…. There’s a new ski hill nearby so it seems like fate. The new cute co-kindergarten teacher who doesn’t like him because he’s competing for”Teacher of the Year”? He’ll have to work extra hard to win her over like everyone else in town!
I’m not sure but this could be my new favourite of the entire Donovans series …. which is a hard pick because they’re all incredible! The storyline is just so perfect but Chase is a brilliant storyteller and I loved it so much! The twist she throws in that Tanner steps in to assist with - I think that was the clincher for me. I completely and totally recommend this one!! Even if you’ve never read her books before, you could technically get away reading this as a standalone, but it would be tough because so many mentions to other books in the series (heck, even one of her Montgomery books, as an aside!) are made.
This series is absolutely the best in audio - all are narrated by Carly Robins who I love so much. Her voice is soothing and I look forward to hearing it. She always does a brilliant job and I will always look for titles she’s associated with. 5-stars for Carly! Perfection as usual.
