Completely, utterly, and ridiculously adorable together
I’m still “squee”-ing over this pair like the giddy fangirl they made me into. Boone and Eve are completely, utterly, and ridiculously adorable together. It’s not all sunshine and roses in their world, but I really appreciated that the author kept their drama personal and didn’t bring in all the outside ‘noise’ we usually get when a leading character is a celebrity. I also applaud the author for showing that it doesn’t matter whether the victim is male or female, and it isn’t limited to romantic relationships. Abusers have many faces and forms, and they’re all toxic. (Stepping down from my soapbox now.) I loved that this book showed us Boone and Eve working to make their relationship possible. That, no matter what else they had to do as individuals or a couple, their relationship took a commitment from both of them to make it thrive. And it took both of them handling the mental and emotional baggage that comes with having been in any kind of a relationship before. I adored that we got to spend so much time with Griffin and Alice during this book, and I hope that this isn’t the last time we get to hang out with any of these characters.
