Publisher Description
Hockey star Kyle Murphy pursues matchmaker Marissa with the same single minded purpose that she pursues him- except that he wants her for himself and she wants him for someone else!
Matchmaker Marissa Collins needs to grow her database of high-end dating prospects if she wants to retain her demanding client list. Scouting Philadelphia's newest hockey star seemed like a good idea – until the notorious playmaker makes a move on her. She's never mixed business with pleasure, and she can hardly start now when a high priority client has requested an introduction to the town's hottest bachelor.
Power forward Kyle Murphy may lead the league in goals, but scoring with a sexy matchmaker forces him to rethink his game. Marissa only sees him as a prospect for her stable full of commitment-minded single women, so Kyle has to make a new play to get her to see him in a new light. It's a tied game poised for a shootout. Can playmaker Kyle find a way for them both to win?

4.5
This story takes instant attraction and quick-burn romance and grows it into love. Overall I liked the story. I have only read book two and this one from the series, and I much prefer this book to book two. I found the story more engaging and the intimacy more organic. I really liked the secondary romance in this book too. It was fun. The hockey was also a fun component, but it was kept relatively brief. Marissa, a professional matchmaker, needed the payout for connecting her client Stacy with her aspirational choice, hockey star Kyle. The situation blew up on Marissa when she met Kyle and attraction flamed between them. It got complicated from there. The story includes elements of traumatic brain injury and caregiving for a parent. This book is part of a series about the Murphy brothers, but it reads as a standalone. This is a detailed open door romance with multiple scenes, innuendo, and occasional mild to moderate harsh language.
