Publisher Description
Toke never envisaged that she would be a successful media personality. She began her journey as a bubbly child but grew into a lonely teenager after
the devastating loss of both her parents. For so long after, it seemed as though she would never find herself.
On Becoming is the real Toke Makinwa telling us what it is like to be one of the most talked about celebrities in Nigeria. She reveals the truth behind her 14-year relationship with the man she finally married. A marriage that ended
in an atrocious scandal that nearly brought her to her knees.
In the wake of the peaks and troughs that characterise Toke’s experiences, she now shares her struggle with blinding betrayal, finding forgiveness and
drawing strength from her faith in God.
On Becoming is Toke’s journey through pain to victory.

Onbecoming toke makinwa
This book is a good way to get people reading and I must say it's the fastest I have ever read a book. The honesty and outpouring raw and true emotional vulnerability is beyond words. It only takes courage to share your life struggles to the rest of the world. Thanks for writing your story Toke. I stand with you.
On becoming - great but too soon!
Applaud Toke on sharing her story and also finding strength to move on and also deepen her relationship with Christ. If Toke were my best friend (as I sometimes feel she is in my head when I watch her vlogs), I would have told her to wait! This book was rushed - evidenced by the writing style, and also all the grammatical errors. And she has clearly not healed, I mean less than a year again she was still in counselling with her husband. I obviously do not knwo your story; but you were clearly not ready for this! I wish you had waited a few more years before writing this. It had the potential to be so much more. This just seemed like a series of text messages or a whatsapp group with female friends giving juicy gist.
But the beauty about life is that you will get to share this story many times over. I am glad you moved on and I pray for your recovery! Congrats on being a best-selling author.
