Fun and flirty with some intriguing suspense
I love reading books set in Bloo Moose, Vermont where everyone knows and looks after each other. The quirky name of the town, the crazy and inventive moose statues and the eclectic mix of businesses are a draw for both citizens and tourists. Vi and Luca are best friends and housemates who want more than friendship, but are afraid to make a move forward that could possibly ruin the connection they have now. As deputy, Vi serves the town and it’s citizens to the best of her ability, whether it means dealing with a cranky trapped bear, unruly drunks or rescuing wayward tourists. Unfortunately, it seems that Vi is in need of help herself. Her parents are going to visit and bring along another “lovely man” for Vi to meet. This time, Luca volunteers to throw her parents off guard by acting as her boyfriend. Of course both know that pretending will be difficult since each of them really wants the boyfriend/girlfriend relationship to be real. (I have to admit that I love Luca’s quirky pet names for Vi). Worrying about their relationship takes a backseat to some weird and increasingly dangerous incidents that seem target Vi. As the investigation continues, Vi and Luca finally confess their feelings and the Bloo Moose citizens rally around to support and protect their own. Someone is determined to separate Vi from Luca. Will they get their chance at forever together?.
