PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Simone's sexy second Billionaires of Boston romance (after Vows in Name Only) combines a slew of tropes—unexpected pregnancies and one-night stands among them—to riveting effect. Upper crust businesswoman Mycah Hill has a blisteringly hot one-night stand with a stranger. She intends to savor the memory and move on—until an interview for a V-P of operations job lands her back in front of her mystery man, Achilles Farrell. Reclusive computer whiz Achilles newly co-owns the family company with the two half brothers he only learned of at the reading of his father's will, and he's still uneasy in the role. When Mycah acts as if she's never seen him before in the interview, Achilles retreats emotionally, convinced that, because of their class differences, she plans to keep him her "dirty little secret." Through skillful plotting, Simone guides her hero and heroine to a happily-ever-after, including a well-deserved comeuppance for Mycah's entitled blue-blooded parents. Simone's lively prose and believable characterization—plus some occasional snark—combine to form an irresistible story full of heat and heart.
Customer Reviews
Lots of big emotions
How do you handle feeling alone even though you’re surrounded by others? Like the book before it, there are a lot of big emotions in this story. A bunch of them are tangled up in the confusing feelings Achilles and Mycah have for their parents. There’s also some heavy baggage from previous romantic relationships tripping the pair up. I really liked these two even though there were times that I wanted to take them and shake some sense into them. My heart bled that Achilles didn’t feel confident enough in the connection to his brothers to fully trust them. And it ached to see the horrible treatment that Mycah put up with from her parents. I adored the ending and I’m dying to see what’s going to happen with the youngest Farrell son.
