Publisher Description
ORGANIZATIONAL INFORMATION System X is an integrated delivery system with a 530-bed tertiary care teaching and research hospital, which includes the region's only Level I trauma center and operates a neonatal facility. System X has a lease agreement with a hospital authority and is governed by an appointed board of directors. Hospital X has been in operation for nearly 50 years. Consequently, it serves a high level of indigent patients, providing the second highest amount of uncompensated care in the state. Hospital X was founded as the county hospital to serve uninsured and indigent patients. During the mid-1990s, a concerted effort was made to move Hospital X from being regarded as the county hospital to being a teaching facility and destination hospital.
