Publisher Description
The Bell Jar is poet Sylvia Plath’s only novel. It was originally published under the pseudonym Victoria Lucas and was published just one month before Plath’s suicide. The story follows Esther Greenwood, a young Boston woman, who struggles with mental illness and depression. Sylvia Plath had her own struggles with mental illness and the novel is considered semi-autobiographical.

Terrible OCR from Green LIght e-books
This edition published by Green LIght e-books is an incompetently produced book. Some sentences contain some many errors that the author’s original wording cannot by deciphered from the text. It was done with OCR and zero proof reading. I would suggest avoiding all books pulished by Green Light as they are total ripoff artists. Buy another edition, buy the paperback, or borrow from library instead.
Terrible terrible copy
This novel is great, this version is wretched. There is literally a grammatical/spelling/wording mistake ON EVERY PAGE. Often more than one. Do not download this version it is a waste of time. Take your time and money elsewhere. This version is a disgrace to what the novel really is.
