Publisher Description
It's 1886 and Thomas Childs is forced to stay with his aunt to attend college in Charleston. His aunt is a free-spirited woman who adores the wealthy lifestyle her family can afford. Thomas is not eager to attend more college and finds out that his aunt has plans to find him a wife. What Thomas does find is that the new family help is a beautiful young colored girl that he cannot look away from. He knows that a white man should not look at the colored help, but he feels himself lost in her looks.
It was a simple item to get from the attic and Thomas found himself in the arms of the colored maid administering help to him. What he found was that his feelings for her was more that society could handle and a family secret that was not allowed to be spoken of. Thomas finds himself loving a woman he shouldn't and digging up the past about a dead family member who also had forbidden desires for a black slave.
