Publisher Description
New-World China meets Old-World Italy, as Ava investigates the dark side of the glamourous world of fashion in the latest installment of the Ava Lee Novels.
Ava attends London Fashion Week for the launch of the PÖ fashion line, one of the major investments she and her partners in the Three Sisters — May Ling Wong and Amanda Yee — have made over the past year. The show is a success, but perhaps too much of one. It attracts the attention of Dominic Ventola, the principal partner in the luxury fashion conglomerate VLG. When VLG offers to buy the Three Sisters’ stake in the company, Ava and her partners decline. A few days later, PÖ comes under attack in the fashion media and a large part of their customer base begins to abandon them.
With the help of Xu, Ava uncovers the dark and complex dynamics between East and West in the global fashion industry, eventually leading to a confrontation between two of the world’s biggest crime syndicates.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Hamilton's tense 10th Ava Lee novel (after The Princeling of Nanjing) has his heroine trying to establish herself in the legitimate world of high fashion after retiring from her not-so-legitimate debt-collecting business. She quickly realizes those two worlds aren't that far apart. It's London Fashion Week, and Ava's fashion line is a huge success, so much so that the famous Dominic Ventola of the giant VLG line wants to buy the company. Ava and her partners are flattered by the attention of the great Italian designer but turn him down. Ventola doesn't take it well and decides, with his crime-syndicate backers, to run them out of the business. Fans of the series know Ava will respond soundly with a cold, satisfying dish of revenge. Since the death of Ava's partner, Uncle, and her move into legitimate business, the novels are less action-driven and even a touch more melodramatic, focusing on her relationships with her new partners and on a blossoming romance. This book, like all the Ava Lee novels, is pure fun.

The Couturier of Milan
I really like the Ava Lee series. To be able to expand beyond her debt collecting business and moving into a new arena is fascinating. My stomach was in knots when the Camorra mafia knocked on her door, just wanted to skip to the end but kept my pace and read page after page. Looking forward to her adventures in Manila. I have read all ten books now.

Ava Lee Never Disappoints!
I can never put this series down, and when I first found the Ava Lee Series there were already several published so it was very hard to wait for each new one to be released once I'd caught up! Having a smart, talented female character as the lead and watching her development from book to book has kept me invested in this series. I now can't wait to find out what awaits her in the Philippines! I also appreciate that her sexual orientation has contributed to her character and yet made it only a small part of who she is, relying on her intellect and character to propel the story forward. Looking forward to the next book in this exciting series and the eventual tv series.
