Masterpiece

I started this book as a brief overview for crusades but it was a masterpiece, it completely captured the essence of crusades. The stereotypical opinion about crusades is that it is a war to protect Christianity and fellow Christian’s. But did we ever think about how there were Christian’s who were forced to leave everything behind and fight for a battle they had no idea what it was about. the pope offered a price for absolute forgiveness of sins, which shouldn’t be in the hands of a person but god himself, god should be the one to judge and forgive not the pope. The crusades were just a battle to eliminate a competitor (got this from the book😝) and corruption not religion. Will recommend
