Allie doesn't get much development, and her romantic interactions lack chemistry, but Jackal reaps the benefit of Kagawa's attention and becomes an intriguingly complex character. While neatly setting up the final book, Kagawa's vivid prose and unexpected plot developments will keep fans entranced. Ages 14 up.
