Bonding Over Books
This story takes place at the same time as ‘The Fox and the Viscount” - Denise is Victoria’s sister. Denise would rather read than socialize. Mr George Beaumont is also looking to avoid the social grind. When they have a solo stolen moment and bond over books, the start of something beautiful is born. I loved Denise and George’s banter, as well as the open mindedness in the face of stigma’s present in their society. A fun and lighthearted read.
Sigh. So sweet!
Sigh. So sweet! After watching the beginning of this romance blossoming in the first book, I have been (im)patiently waiting to see how the rest of Denise and George’s story would turn out. And it was simply perfect. I especially liked seeing that our hero wasn’t from the aristocracy and that he and Miss Foxe got to know one another by discussing books at balls. I also had so much fun getting a look at Victoria and Renarton’s courtship from a different point of view. I just wish it had been longer. I wanted to read more about these two.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout.
Sweet
Denise and George’s story is sweet and funny. They are book bookish and intellectual people and don’t like small talk or gossip. It was fun to see how they would get together and get the family to agree to a marriage between a lady and a gentleman.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
