Lana meets Christian in a hotel closet after discovering her current live-in boyfriend and best friend are cheating together while he is dodging paparazzi - and lying to her about his identity. The story is well written and solid research was done into the careers and schooling of the cast, as well as the science but failed to demonstrate a genuine connection other than physical between the couple. However, this Greenpeace activist heroine came across as somewhat shallow falling in love with a thoroughly wasteful man in a matter of days, especially in the days following the breakup of a 10 year relationship, and seems hardly credible. The meet cute was just that - cute - but the follow-through left in its wake was unrealistic and came across to me as lust, not love; he fell in love with her within a day because she was smart and beautiful / both circumstantial traits failing to look at the person inside and proceeded to lie to her…a lot; she initiated sex with him on date number two despite her prior uncomfortable misgivings. She forgives his ‘mistakes’ so readily every time and does not interpret them as yellow flags given how often they occur, overlooking her own stated values. He thinks nothing of changing a lot for her and gives up so much of what interests him and what he has worked for in order to please her and lose many of his own dreams in the process. While the story has many good points and a nicely worked out HEA, I had to take a half star for these areas and the failure to close a major story arc of what becomes of the ex-BFF and the cheating BF when he tries to sell his vindictive viewpoint story of their breakup to the gossip pages. Then a race to the finish. Overall I enjoyed the book, but some discrepancies and the lack of some basic relationship foundations took away from the total enjoyment of the story for me.

Only 53 pages didn’t have any options to get the rest of the book. Very disappointed.☹️ I would purchase more of the books. I don’t trust them.
