The Rainbow Serpent is Back! The Rainbow Serpent is Back!

Publisher Description

Hugh didn’t think it mattered whose land he was on, or who used to live here, until one day the Rainbow Serpent transported him back in time to see for himself. He learns about totems, tools and bush tucker and when returning to his own time he has a greater respect for those who used to call this land home.

The Tools, Totems & Tucker Enviro-Stories program was run with students from across the central west and tableland regions of New South Wales in 2014. These students were given the opportunity to learn about traditional Aboriginal culture from local experts and their teachers. Students used what they learnt to create stories about Aboriginal culture and how this culture was used in the past and in current times. There have been ten books produced as part of this program.
