Former hockey phenom Eric Fairburn's got 99 problems, but determination ain't one.

It was karma. When our eyes met across the crowded bar, I was drawn magnetically. Beyond her beauty and supple body, it was her unshakeable calm I craved—she was the yin to my yang.

Still when she immediately suggested we go to my place for sex, I nearly dropped my drink. But once we got into my truck, and she saw proof of my messed-up past, she bailed. Gone without even leaving her Cinderella slipper.
