But then an unlikely man enters the picture—the forbidden one, the one she shouldn't want but can't seem to resist. She's lost it all before and refuses to repeat her mistakes. Can she trust him? APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
A strong, resilient heroine finally finds the love she deserves in this heartwarming romance from Kennedy Ryan. Still reeling from a traumatic divorce, Soledad has been through enough. So when she meets the kind, handsome Judah, she’s reluctant to open her heart. After all, she can’t risk another devastating heartbreak when her three daughters are depending on her. But is that really the only thing holding her back? We loved following Sol on her journey toward loving herself and realizing that she deserves to be happy. Ryan does a fantastic job of depicting Judah as a man who’s worthy of playing a part in that happiness. From the way both of these characters maturely co-parent with their exes to their undeniable chemistry together, we get to witness the emotional honesty that makes Sol and Judah each so special—and so perfect for each other.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Ryan returns with a raw and moving second installment of the Skyland series (after Before I Let Go). Stay-at-home mom Soledad Barnes prides herself on caring for her husband, Edward, and their three daughters—but her well-ordered world turns upside down when Edward is arrested for embezzlement and, while he's in jail, Soledad learns of his infidelity. With her children depending on her, Soledad is determined not to fall apart. Instead, she must find a way to turn her life around with the help of supportive female friends and bell hooks's All About Love. Forensic accountant Judah Cross is the man who uncovered Edward's crimes, putting him and Soledad at odds. Nevertheless, the pair cannot deny the powerful attraction simmering between them. Kennedy makes the chemistry palpable and showcases the unexpected similarities between her worthy protagonists by emphasizing their mutual devotion to their families; Judah is a single father to autistic twin sons. Soledad and Judah's ensuing forbidden romance doubles as a journey of self-discovery for them both. Readers will be most gratified to see Soledad figure out how to turn her long-unpaid domestic labor into a lucrative business by selling her baked goods and starting a farm-to-table pop-up experience. This sexy and mature romance is another hit for Ryan.

Excellent!!!
I joined the bandwagon and read the romance bestseller by Kennedy Ryan called this could be us. It is a story about a modern love that is forbidden but still interesting. The main character is a forty year old middle aged woman who devoted her life to her family by being a stay at home mom and a devoted wife. Unfortunately, her relationship takes a turn to the left and she has to pick all the pieces to keep her family financially afloat. In the process of making a living for herself and her family, she finds her voice and is hesitant in pursuing a forbidden relationship (not ideal situation for her lover that puts their relationship at odds). This intense chemistry grows and she has to decide whether to move forward with the consequences or deny herself of a true love. It was a great book to read for a light Summer read with a happy ending at the end. I liked it and recommend it to those who like a little spice in their life. What I liked most was the character was a normal woman with kids and her lover had kids too with autism. A modern love story of our generation. The book does a great job at explaining and bringing awareness to autistic children. It brought me a different perspective I was not familiar with. I love it when you read for entertainment and you still come up to learn something new. Great book and plot!
