Good read if you are into Christian romance.
I missed the memo about this book being a Christian romance which is not a genre I’m into. To clarify, it’s not the lack of “spice” that makes me dislike said genre, it’s that many of the themes of faith and bible rules don’t sit right with me in reality. Thus, coming across them in my chosen method of escapism was disappointing.
Factoring out that, though, it was a solid read with well woven plot lines and interesting characters! I won’t be pursuing the series re: the Jesus factor but if that’s your jam I highly recommend this book/author. Perfect blend of a classic trope (friend’s little sister) and fresh takes on suspenseful events.
To Protect Her
Loved the the tough, strong Bethany, was dealt a crap hand, then her older brother’s best friend steps into help… a lot of talk about Her brother Owen but unless I missed something… they caught who was out to harm Bethany but what happened with Owen… a little disappointed.. yes Duncan fell in love and claimed Bethany and her unborn child but to skip right over the main reason Duncan was actually was because he never took the call from Owen was very disappointing…
