Publisher Description
They went searching for treasure. They never expected to find love.
Rick McKinnon is on the hunt for booty... pirate booty, that is. With just a week left to find a hidden trove before his mafia-backed investor starts busting kneecaps, Rick discovers it's hidden inside a 200-year-old well on private property. Sneaking in is no problem—until claustrophobic Rick gets stuck.
The last thing Willow Wilde needs after moving away from her thieving ex is to rescue a sexy hustler from her well. But when the fortune hunter offers her a share of the buried treasure for her help, Willow gets swept into an adventure that might solve her money woes—and add to her man troubles.
But Rick and Willow aren't the only ones searching for the lost loot, and their rivals will stop at nothing to find it first. It's a race against time as the unlikely partners chase a string of clues through quirky Candlewood Falls. Will they risk everything for riches, or learn that some treasures are more precious than gold?

It was easy to see the sparks flying
I feel a bit like this is what we might get if “National Treasure” got the Hallmark movie treatment. Though, this absolutely kept the spicy parts that would have hit the cutting room floor in that scenario. Full disclosure, however, the image in my head of Rick is a lot more Matthew McConaughey from “Fool’s Gold” instead. And Willow? There’s something that’s a much freer spirit about her than the heroines of either of those movies, so I’m not really sure who I’m mentally casting in her part yet. I had so much fun with this story. It was easy to see the sparks flying between Willow and Rick, despite their initial adversarial positions. And I got a real kick out of watching as they naturally grew closer together. I loved seeing the happy ending this pair gets and I can’t wait to find out which Candlewood Falls resident the author has her sights set on next.
