A winged thief. A tree newly turned human. And they just robbed the whole world.

Only days after going to jail for their crimes, Archer and Wick are free and on the run again. The glow of the Scorch grows brighter on the horizon, and the stones they need to stop it have been carried off to the far reaches of Aro. Their only choice is to barter for the stones. There is no room for error, and they have fewer advantages now than ever before. Allies who once rallied with them have turned their backs, their old enemies are out for blood, and the only safe haven from either is with Archer's treacherous father in seraph territory. Their venture is taking a toll on both of them: a disastrous meeting with the leshy has sent Wick into a spiral of despondency, and without his help, Archer is struggling to hold it all together.

Still, they have to do this. They can only succeed, or Aro will burn.
