#7 Coal Power

In the far backyard of the cosmos a blue ball is turning. The blue ball has and will continue to be buffeted by the forces of nature. One such event was foretold and then forgotten. Ancient stone records are unearthed but are unreadable eons later. But their other artifacts are still around and maybe they will be found and studied.

Almost by chance a device of unknown purpose, design, and construction is uncovered. It is studied; foolishly handled and it becomes inoperable and is destroyed. But in the process others are found and not disturbed. Will this civilization be wiser and able to sustain itself through the upcoming events or will the message fall on deaf ears once again.

Profit is the driving force at this time for any action. Profit itself is not king; what it may provide you is. A secondary pleasure is the thrill of the chase, win or lose.

Will a small band of females of the dominate species be able to turn a profit and as a side effect continue the upward climb of their ancestors. What dangers will the encounter as they pursue profit?
