What brought you to the Outer Banks? Basically, my parents did. They would come to the beach and they bought a small cottage. They loved it here, and so do I. At that time there was no TV reception and my brother and I would play in the sand dunes. Dad told us that you could catch a seagull by sprinkling salt on its tail because then it could not fly. So my brother and I would spend hours on the beach with a salt shaker trying to sneak up on the gulls. Dad was very creative in his ways to keep us out of trouble and entertained.
