Custer's Last Stand: Fact & Fiction--Hollywood-Style (Feature‪)‬

Hollywood has certainly done its best to enhance the myth surrounding General Custer and the Battle of Little Bighorn, including the distortion of converting a Canadian into a Brit to avoid potential lawsuits This June 25th will be the 135th anniversary of the Battle of Little Bighorn, otherwise known as Custer's Last Stand. Native Americans call it the Battle of the Greasy Grass. For the uninitiated, it was an engagement between the combined forces of the Lakota, Northern Cheyenne and Arapaho people against the US 7th Calvary Regiment. Clearly the most famous action of the Great Sioux War of 1876-1877, the actual engagement took place June 25th to June 26th near the Little Bighorn River in Eastern Montana. It was the greatest defeat of US forces by a native contingent in American history.
