In the Beginning

A Child that was told from the beginning of her life that her mother died because of her, Kate had a lot of issues with talking to people. As a young child, she was looked down upon because even though she was from a good family in the small town she was too smart for her own good. She was often right on things most adults did not understand fully. However, a simple statement about inherited traits sent her life down a completely different path. The one friend she had was no longer there to help her. She was going o be left alone in the world.
That was until a person stepped up from the extended family and took in the child. The distance of living in a different country was the one thing that saved her. Along with the fact the man accepted her as his own. He went above and beyond what someone would do for her. She knew that and thanked him by excelling in everything she could.
When she returned to the states she had been asked to work in the area she had lived in once before. When a chance encounter at her place of employment brought her face to face with the one person she had never forgotten about. The one friend she had as a child. Although when asked, she lied and told him she had no idea who he was. That was until there was a problem and he was asked to watch over her.
She could not hide the fact from him when he walked into her house and saw a picture of him and her as children. That was when all hell broke loose in both of their lives. The truth normally starts when you go back to the beginning.
