When the detective found out about the person who was coming in to write a book about the person and the case he had just closed for being one of the most active serial killers in recent history. The problem it was someone he had known all of her life. It was also the one person on the planet he knew how he felt about. So, seeing her would be a problem that no one would understand if he tried, and she rejected him.
When she arrived, he was in the middle of closing all the loose ends on the case he had helped build. However, as he was, he could see there was more there. It was with her help that he really could finish the case and also possibly get the girl. It would all depend on her.
Knowing was all the difference.
