Our indomitable flower lady, now Iris, tracks down her son and moves to Charlotte, N.C. Fortunately, her burn injuries in Toronto led to plastic surgery that makes her unrecognizable, even to her son-she hopes. In North Carolina, she creates an idyllic family life for herself. She now has a grandson to love, a son who has become very fond of her, and her dream house.

But before long, she must deal with problems that threaten her loved ones. Even when vacationing abroad with the family, she encounters situations that must be handled with her trademark ruthlessness.
